Neot Kedumim

A magical nature reserve in the heart of the country.

Neot Nature Club offers you the gifts of beautiful nature, inspirational knowledge and good company.
You will be immersed in the outdoors, using all your senses creating an enriching experience.

The club will include a wide variety of themes:
Israeli flora, botany, ecology, ancient agriculture, biblical and modern local food, foraging and more.
It will be experiential – cooking, arts and crafts, tasting, gathering and of course good times!
Run by Joanna Maissel senior guide at the reserve.

Weekly meetings on Monday mornings between 9:30 – 11:30 am

Meet Up 1: Back to Basics – 26.2.2024

Take a mental snapshot of where we are in the calendar and agricultural year.
Familiarize yourself with the concept of Neot Kedumim as a Biblical Nature Reserve.
Learn some basic botany – we’ll start with parts of the flower.

Meet Up 2: First Steps in Foraging – 4.3.2024

Learn the main principles of foraging.
Go out and sample some classic foraging plants.
A little outdoor cooking washed down with herbal tea.

Meet up 3: Experience Nature from a different angle – 11.3.2024

Employ all your senses to get intimate with nature around us.
Utilize nature as an inspiration for art and design.
Create your own transient art from natural findings.

Meet up 4: In Focus – the date palm – 18.3.2024

Learn it’s Biblical symbolism, it’s many uses and environmental aspects.
Taste some produce of the tree.
Make a useful surprise gift.

Upon request we will be happy to continue with more exciting club meetings

Time: Monday mornings between 9:30 – 11:30am
Beginning February 19th

Price: 40 NIS. per meeting

Prior registration is required.

The club is suitable for adults of all ages and will take place outdoors (except if raining we will be indoors).

No physical fitness ability required.

The Club will be in English and plant names will also be taught in Hebrew.

To each meeting please bring:

  • Notepad and pen
  • Clothing suitable to weather. Layers recommended.
  • Comfortable shoes that can get muddy.
  • Something to sit on in case the benches are wet. (plastic bag)
  • A bag to take home your projects

Program is subject to change and depends on the minimum number of registrants
